No it does not - this device is a hidden camera surveillance device only, it does not function as an actual smoke detector

Q. How easy is it to set up this WiFi hidden camera?

We've designed this camera to be easy to set up and operate. It is a hardwired device, so it is designed to be wired directly to your existing electrical wiring. It includes an AC plug for testing, however you could leave the plug attached and plug it into AC power with the plug if desired. Then simply download our free streaming app, and use the app to connect it to your home's WiFi network.

Q. Are there any costs or fees to view my live camera feed?

No there are not - all you need is your existing WiFi network, there are no additional fees to view, stream, or record your video (or costs for the app).

Q. Can I add additional cameras to monitor from the same app?

Yes you can mix and match this with any of our other TinyCam Pro compatible hidden cameras and view them all from the same app.

Q. How do motion detection/activity alerts work?

Motion detection alerts notify you instantly on your smartphone (via push notification) whenever your camera detects activity (can be toggled on or off). This way you can pull up your camera feed and see what's going on.

Q. How does the night vision work?

The IR night vision features 940nm "invisible/no glow" sensors that do not emit any red lights. These sensors automatically enable whenever the light gets low or goes out, so that you can see what's going on, even in low light or no light situations.

Q. Can multiple people watch the stream at once (such as my spouse or partner)?

Yes you can share your camera login and password that you create with someone you trust so that they can watch your camera feed as well if needed.

Q. Do I need any special WiFi network or router for this camera?

All of our WiFi hidden cameras are compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi networks only. Most modern routers broadcast in both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz WiFi signals, so be sure to connect to the 2.4Ghz signal. Public or corporate WiFi networks (such as a coffee shop, hotel, or office building WiFi may have additional security measures in place that don't allow you to connect them to those networks).

Q. How can I watch my recorded video files?

There are two ways to view your recorded video files. First, you can use the app to remotely view the video files and download them to your phone. This allows you to access the video files without physical access to the camera/smoke detector itself. The second method is to physically remove the card from the smoke detector camera, and plug the memory card into your PC or Mac computer for playback.

Q. Can I stream to a PC or Macintosh desktop computer or laptop?

The camera streams to a PC or Mac computer only, it does not stream to a desktop or laptop computer.
