Easy Setup and Operation

Night Vision Hidden Camera
In addition to daytime recording, the mini clock hidden camera can also see in the dark. It's invisible "no glow" IR sensors can see even in total darkness up to 10-15 feet, so you'll be able to see what's going on no matter the time of day or night.

Record Video to Micro SD Card
In addition to live video, you can also set up the clock camera to record video to a micro SD memory card for later viewing. The camera can accept up to a 128GB card, and you can watch playback remotely on your smartphone, or remove the card and watch on your computer.

Q. How easy is it to set up this hidden camera?

We've made this hidden camera straightforward to set up and to operate. We include a detailed and easy to read user manual in the box, written by our US based product experts, which take you step by step through the setup and operation, so setting up the camera should be quick and easy.

Q. How is this WiFi nanny cam clock powered?

For short term use, you can use the internal battery power, which will provide around 4-5 hours of battery life on a full charge. For longer term use, we recommend using the included wall charger and power cable to plug the camera into AC power for 24/7 uninterrupted power.

Q. Are there any fees to view, stream, or record my video?

No there are not - there are never any additional fees to use your camera. All you need is your existing high speed internet connection and a smartphone or tablet.

Q. Can I add multiple cameras to monitor different areas of my home or business?

This particular camera uses the free Tuya Smart app, so you can use multiple of this camera or other Tuya Smart hidden cameras and monitor them all from the same app.

Q. How do the motion alerts work?

When you enable motion detection alerts, the app will send you a push notification (similar to when a text message pops up on your screen) notifying you that the camera has detected motion nearby.

Q. Does this hidden camera have audio too?

Yes this device is both video and audio enabled. Be sure to only use audio in situations where you are permitted to do so.

Q. Can I record my video from this hidden camera too?

Yes you can - the camera can record to a micro SD memory card up to 128GB in capacity. You can watch playback easily remotely via the Tuya Smart app.

Q. Can multiple people watch the stream at once (such as my spouse or partner)?

Yes if you have someone that you'd like to also be able to monitor the camera feed, you can give them your app user name and password and they can monitor the camera feed as well.

Q. Do I need any special WiFi network or router for this camera?

The HC217w is compatible with both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz WiFi networks. This means that most home WiFi networks should be compatible with the camera. Certain WiFi networks (like corporate, public, or hotel WiFi networks) may have additional security features that do not allow this type of device to connect to it, so if you plan on using the camera in one of those places, check with your network administrator first to ensure compatibility.

Q. How do I watch my recorded video files?

There are two ways you can watch the video files you record to the micro SD card. The first (and easier) method is to use the included app. This allows you to easily watch your recorded videos on your smartphone anywhere that you can live view the camera. The second method is to remove the memory card from the clock and insert it into your PC or Mac computer, and use a standard video player like VLC Media Player on your computer to watch.

Q. Can I live stream to a PC or Macintosh desktop computer or laptop?

Currently this hidden camera (and all of our WiFi hidden cameras) stream to the smartphone app only, they do not stream to desktop or laptop computers.
